The Wright Center

The mission of The Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education (WCGME) is to continuously improve education and patient care in a collaborative spirit to enhance outcomes, access and affordability.

WCGME acts as the Common Paymaster for two related organizations, The Wright Center Medical Group and the Patient Engagement Counsel. All human resource services for the three related organizations are provided by WCGME.

WCGME is also engaged in practice transformation innovations at all of their Primary Care locations. In 2013, their Mid Valley location was named one of the “30 top innovative primary care practices in the United States” by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. This initiative identifies practice innovations that make primary care more efficient, effective and satisfying to patients and providers.

Now with their national expansion into Family Medicine residency training, WCGME is taking their award-winning training to six different states around the country. Rooted in academic excellence and leveraging GME expertise, WCGME’s pioneering 2013 AOA-approved Family Medicine National Network residency program, in partnership with A. T. Still University of Health Sciences’ School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona, is implementing a national GME network for FQHC-based training in communities across the United States.

This educational innovation intends to address national physician workforce shortage, misdistribution and increasing health disparities by empowering these communities to steward their physician workforce renewal.
